Wikipedia Commons is a huge repository of freely licensed media - which has just celebrated its 6 millionth file! This image of Bruny Island, an island off the south-eastern coast of Tasmania, is a 'featured picture' which means the Commons community has categorised it as one of the finest images available.

The freely licensed image was taken by a volunteer 'noodle snacks', who has also donated 136 other high quality images of largely Australian content. Please click here to see examples of Noodles' work. The image, combined with the freely licensed article linked to above is another example of the resources the Wikimedia Foundation are keen to distribute to all, for free.
