In 2017 the Wikimedia Australia activities calendar involved 66 events. These contributed to our goals of engaging with and supporting Australian editors, outreach to new editors, and engagement with the wider Wikimedia community.   • 28 Jan- 1 Feb 2013: ACT - Australia's national Linux conference will be held in Canberra, a great place to meet up with others in the open source community. The conference can offer some financial support (involvement in projects such as Wikipedia is one of the criteria).
  • 9-11 February 2013: QLD - ALIA's New Librarians Symposium will be held in Brisbane. WMAU was a sponsor of the event. WMF Exec Director Sue Gardner was a keynote speaker. There was a presentation on WMAU's work with the APC on HOPAU. WMAU had a booth and distributed information and membership forms.
  • 12-15 February 2013: QLD - ALIA's Information Online conference, also in Brisbane, Sue Gardner was a keynote speaker, introduced by Liam Wyatt of WMAU.
  • 21 February 2013: VIC - Wikipedia training day in Bendigo. More information is available on Outreach wiki.
  • Tuesday 25 June 2013: QLD - Wikipedia edit training at Gold Coast in partnership with State Library of Queensland - Kerry will present the session and is looking for a volunteer to assist new editors with their first article, contact Kerry if you can help

  • Wed 18 - Fri 20 September 2013 & Sat 21 September: NSW - 3 days of Wheelchair Rugby Tri-Nations competition in Sydney's St Marys Cathedral Square (Wed-Fri) following by an edit-a-thon at State Library of NSW on Saturday 10am-5pm. Edit-a-thon participants can get 'free' tickets to the games! More information and RSVP
