Franklin Women first partnered with Wikimedia Australia on Thursday 25th July 2019 to make the internet just that little bit better. An edit-a-thon was hosted to increase the visibility on Wikipedia of women who have made important contributions to the health and medical research sector, as well as increase the number of women who have the skills to become Wikipedia editors. Attended by 30 editors, together they learnt to edit Wikipedia and created 21 new articles! | |||

Franklin Women are an Australian professional community dedicated to supporting the careers of women working across the health and medical research ecosystem.
Our Partnership
Franklin Women first partnered with Wikimedia Australia on Thursday 25th July 2019 to make the internet just that little bit better. An edit-a-thon was hosted to increase the visibility on Wikipedia of women who have made important contributions to the health and medical research sector, as well as increase the number of women who have the skills to become Wikipedia editors. Attended by 30 editors, together they learnt to edit Wikipedia and created 21 new articles!

In 2023, Franklin Women launched More Than A Day, a series of video to empower women everywhere to edit Wikipedia. They have been viewed over 2,000 times on YouTube.
Awards
In 2023, Wikimedia Australia was pleased to award the inaugural Craig Franklin Award to Franklin Women for their work increasing the online representation of women working in health and medical research by improving Wikipedia.
