Description

Franklin Women is an Australian professional community dedicated to supporting women working across the health and medical research ecosystem.

Our Partnership

On Thursday, July 25th, 2019, Franklin Women partnered with Wikimedia Australia to contribute to the improvement of the online representation of women. An edit-a-thon was hosted, attended by 30 editors, with the goal of increasing the visibility of women who have made significant contributions to the health and medical research sector. During the event, participants learned to edit Wikipedia and collectively created 21 new articles.

In 2023, Franklin Women launched More Than A Day, a video series aimed at empowering women globally to contribute to Wikipedia. The series has garnered over 2,000 views on YouTube.

Awards

In 2023, Wikimedia Australia proudly awarded the inaugural Craig Franklin Award to Franklin Women for their outstanding efforts in enhancing the online representation of women in health and medical research through Wikipedia.
